Grant Thornton Open and First Timers' Case Competition
The Grant Thornton Open Case Competition is where you'll get the opportunity to analyse a business situation, and generate effective strategies which you will present back to a panel of judges.
This competition is perfect for building communication skills, analytical thinking and teamwork skills. You will get to make friends, expand your skillset, and grow your understanding of different industries. If you're still not convinced there is a cash prize pool on offer too!
In teams of four you will be given 3 hours to analyse a business and prepare a solution. Each team will have 10 minutes to present to the judges, followed by 10 minutes of Q&A. You may sign up as a team or as an individual, in which case we will assign you to a team.
These comps are the only pathway into the Case Programme, where you could be representing the University on a national and international level.

FSNI Future of Digital Strategy Case Competition

Look no further, the FSNI Future of Digital Strategy Case Competition is here! Explore the latest trends, emerging technologies, and consumer behaviours that shape the digital world, while putting your critical thinking skills to the ultimate test.
The Competition
Your team of four will have 12 days to research the digital sector, formulate your insights, and prepare a slide deck presentation. The top 4-6 teams will then present their insights to a panel of judges. Don’t worry if you can’t put together a team of four - you can register as an individual and we'll assign you a team!

MYOB Digital Challenge
The 9th annual MYOB Digital Challenge offers students the ability to integrate their technical knowledge and business analytical skills. Competitors will address issues found in small to medium enterprises, driving real solutions for business problems throughout New Zealand and Australia.
Teams of 1-4 students you must analyse and develop a conceptual idea for an app or a website regarding a given case. Teams submit a 5-10 minute long video with a one-page executive summary. The top 3 regional finalists in New Zealand and Australia will be selected to take part in the Trans-Tasman finals presenting in front of leading industry judges. The winners of the regional rounds will get their chance in winning a share of the $8,500 prize pool, work with expert mentors from MYOB and get feedback from industry leaders. This competition is an excellent way for students to exercise their business skills, develop their technical skills and to consolidate presentation and teamwork abilities.
The registration period is open from 31st May - 28th June.

Kearney Strategic Asset Case Competition
Looking to build your business knowledge? The opportunity to make industry connections with a prestigious consulting firm? Or even just the chance to make your CV shine? We have the competition for you! 🏆
The Kearney Strategic Asset Case Competition challenges students to make a logical and persuasive argument on whether a business should acquire another company. This competition doesn't require technical or financial knowledge - all you need is some common sense, creativity, and basic commercial know-how. 💼
Teams of 2-4 will have a week to submit a report detailing their strategic recommendations for the case company. Finalists will then be selected and given several days to prepare a presentation on their submission. Finals will be hosted at the University of Auckland, where finalists will present their recommendations to a panel of Kearney judges. 👨💼📈

Quick Case Crack
Ever wondered what case cracking involves? In our first upskilling series of the year, you will learn and get hands-on experience of case cracking and presenting.
In teams of four, you will crack a case with an experienced case mentor to guide you through the process. You will then present to a panel of judges and receive feedback for your performance. If you are looking for a practical way to gain valuable skills, then this one’s for you!
You can choose to register a team, or sign up as an individual. Please note that spaces are limited, so registrations will be on a first-come first-served basis.
This year… the Quick Case Crack will also be combined with our iconic Icebreaker night! You’ll be able to learn about case-cracking even more and meet the team!!

UACC Brand Challenge 2022
UACC is excited to bring back the Brand Challenge with our awesome sponsor, BurgerFuel NZ!
Branding is the key to success; It creates powerful identity while attracting top talent. Brand Challenge present the opportunity for you to tap into your creativity and produce a successful marketing strategy! This year the case has a particular focus on recruitment and talent retention. The case requires no prior experience, all students regardless of degree and year level are welcome to participate!
Teams of 3 - 4 will be provided with a brand deck to understand Burger Fuel's marketing and design goals, as well as a case which will pose a 'question'. Participants will pool together their marketing knowledge and creativity to craft a 5-page submission to help Burger Fuel pursue their vision!
If your submission is in the top five, your team will have the opportunity to present in front of industry judges at a finals night. The finals will be catered by BurgerFuel (of course) at their Headquarter!
If that isn't enough to spark your interest, we are very excited about the prize pool.
First place: $1,000 + each team member receives a YEAR'S SUPPLY of BurgerFuel + an employee coffee chat

KPMG Business and Technology Competition 2022
KPMG and UACC are super excited to present to you the KPMG Technology in Business Case Competition! This competition will see teams analyse a case and come up with creative strategies to recommend to the business. This competition requires no prior experience - all students regardless of degree and year level are able to participate and do well!
In teams of 4, you will be given 9 days to analyse the case and prepare a report summarising your strategies and recommendations. We do encourage forming teams from a variety of backgrounds, but this is not required! The top 5 reports will then be selected to then present to a panel of judges at KPMG's Auckland office. You can sign up as a team or as an individual, in which case we will assign you to a team!
Alongside our $2000 prize pool, there will be exciting opportunities for interviews and internships at KPMG! So make sure you sign up to learn more and experience case consulting, win cash and other awesome opportunities!

MYOB Digital Challenge 2022
The MYOB Digital Challenge (previously known as the IT Challenge) is a case competition that fuses technical knowledge and business analysis. The competition sees students addressing issues found in small to medium enterprises - driving real solutions for business problems throughout New Zealand and Australia.
In teams of 1-4, students will have one week to analyse and develop a conceptual idea for an app or a website regarding a given case. The preliminary round consists of a 5-10 minute video of the solution with a one-page executive summary. After submissions are reviewed by judges, the top three regional finalists in New Zealand and Australia will be selected to take part in the Trans-Tasman finals, presenting to leading industry judges.
The Trans-Tasman finals involve a 10-minute presentation followed by a 10-minute Q&A, held online. Teams are expected to create a basic prototype of their conceptual design to present to a panel of judges.
Participants will have the chance to win their share of the $8,500 prize pool, work with expert mentors from MYOB, and get feedback from industry leaders! This competition is also an excellent way for students to develop both their business and technical skills, and to consolidate presentation and teamwork abilities.
